The DJ being considered should have his or her own insurance. This will protect you in case something happens to their equipment such as fire, theft and so forth. You should ask for actual proof of this insurance before signing any agreement.

When meeting with the DJ it is always a good idea to have the meeting at the location where you are going to have the party or event. This will make it very simple to determine where the equipment is to be set up. There is often a very large amount of equipment involved and it is important that you make sure there is plenty of space available.

Sometimes figuring out the entertainment plan can be overwhelming. A good DJs will have a number of ideas that will fit the occasion and some will even act as your personal Entertainment Coordinator if requested. It is important that you let the DJ know what the proper attire for the event is expected. It would not do to have him or her show up in faded jeans and a t-shirt if it is a formal affair. If formal they should wear a tuxedo or a good suit. For less formal affairs, dress pants, shirt and tie would be appropriate.
